Study the droplet size distribution in a two phase liquid system

The mixture of two liquid phases form droplets in a continuous phase during stirring. One of the important features of this mixture is its Droplet Size Distribution (DSD). The droplet size influences many characteristics of the mixture, e.g. mass transfer. The aim of this project is to study the DSD in a certain liquid-liquid-mixture. There are several different techniques available to obtain the DSD. The suitability of the techniques, the quality and reliability of the measurements, and the ease at which to use them depends on the system to be studied. Therefore, as experimental work, different spectroscopies will be applied to the system and in continue the data will be used to develop a relevant mathematical model. So, this work includes both experimental and mathematical work and some laboratory work experience is preferred.
