The interdisciplinary laboratory is presented by the Chair of Biotech and the Chair of Biochemical Engineering . Complex problems should be solved by groups of four - containing two students of each branch of study. Biology students will work on biological issues whereas engineers will take care of the biochemical engineering aspects. This way of working will improve communication and co-operation within the working group. Results will be presented to all participants at the end. In this presentation, biology students will present the engineering aspects whereas the engineering students will talk about the biological and biochemical aspects. Having to present results from other disciplines will encourage the personal and scientific exchange within the group. The learning and teaching effort between biology and engineering students will also be supported. Due to the internationalization in science and business the students may also present their results in English.
Sake Brewing: In this practical course, students will experience the brewing of traditional Japanese Sake.
