Process Systems Engineering (AVT.SVT)



Each year, two students get the opportunity to study at the Department of Chemical & Process Engineering of the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow for six months as part of the ERASMUS exchange program, which is funded by the European Union. This exchange program is particularly well suited for students at the Bachelor’s or Master’s level in one of the following subjects:

  • Mechanical Engineering with specialization in process engineering
  • Computational Engineering Science
  • Industrial Engineering with specialization in process engineering
  • Environmental Process Engineering

Die University of Strathclyde was founded in 1796, and it was the first technical university in Great Britain. The Department of Chemical & Process Engineering is one of the largest in the country and offers various opportunities for discovering different areas of process engineering. The campus lies in the heart of Glasgow, the largest city of Scotland, which is also known for its friendly atmosphere and rich cultural scene.


The deadlines for applying for this program are

  • January 15th for applications for the following winter semester
  • April 15th for applications for the summer semester of the following year

For this program, you cannot apply through the website of the faculty of Mechanical Engineering, but you need to send your application directly to our e-mail address The application needs to include a motivation letter (in English), your CV (in English as well), a current transcript of records (including all courses) from Campus Office, your Abitur certificate, and recommendation letters / references if available.
