On July 10 and 11, 2018, the first NGP² Symposium took place, during which AVT presented its new research building "Center for Next Generation Products and Processes (NGP²) and the closely related research concept to its partners from science and industry.

After the opening of the symposium by Rector Prof. Schmachtenberg and AVT spokesman Prof. Jupke, the AVT professors presented the main research topics of their chairs to the approximately 70 invited guests. Afterwards the guests could get an impression of the new possibilities of AVT in their laboratories and the competence center NGP² Biorefinery during guided tours through the building.
Afterwards there was the opportunity to talk to each other over BBQ and the broadcast of the World Cup semi-final and to round off the evening in a convivial atmosphere.

On the second day, a total of eight renowned speakers from science and industry presented current aspects of new products and processes in process engineering. We thank Peter Wasserscheid (FAU Erlangen-Nürnberg), Detlef Lohse (University of Twente), Christian Riekel (ESRF – The European Synchrotron), Michael Zavrel (Clariant), Gernot Jäger (Covestro Deutschland AG), Matthias Kraume (TU Berlin), Bernt Nilsson (Lunt University) and Ulrich Kulozik (TU München) for their inspiring lectures.

Furthermore we thank our sponsors, Covestro, Nikon, VTU Engineering and Zentis for their support in organizing the NGP² Symposium!
